So many wait until they are ready to apply for jobs to begin establishing their personal brand (i.e. how you present your unique professional identity), but it's something that we need to start thinking about as early as high school because it takes time and deep reflection to clarify your core values, sincere interests, and distinguishing skills. After all, it's only after you establish your personal brand that you can truly identify a fulfilling career path and ultimately build your reputation in that field. We provide practical exercises to help students clarify and present their personal brand, the central concept for their success as a student and future career professional.

Whether or not you have identified your general career interest or specific career discipline, you will still need to consider your career context (i.e. industry, government, academia, etc.). We will work through an exercise to help students identify the career and context most consistent with their brand.

Not only does a college application dictate whether or not students are accepted into a program, it can also influence how much scholarship support they receive. We go beyond providing an overview of the typical application requirements, by diving deep into one of the most challenging aspects - the personal statement with practical tips on how to craft a compelling and memorable story.

However difficult getting into college may have been, staying and excelling in college is even harder. Why? Because we try to use the same study strategies that served us well in high school in our college classes. We will show students why they need to throw away the flashcards and how to implement new learning strategies that maximize their college success (and increase those GPAs).

The resume is a living document that should be updated as you engage in new experiences. We share the do's and don'ts of resume writing so that students can better communicate their achievements. This way their resume is done right from day one, saving them time when applying for a job and giving them the reassurance that their resume truly represents them and all that they have to offer a future employer.
